During 2009, readers were invited to nominate their favourite canal pub for
the Canal Cruising Guide Pub of the Year award.
The winner of the title was
the Jack Mytton at Hindford on the Llangollen Canal
Winners, Ian and Wendy Spencer-Brown have been running the Jack Mytton for four years and have worked hard to make the pub a popular spot with
both boaters and locals.
"We're delighted to win this award" said Ian, "and our success is due to the efforts
of our staff and chef who have made a significant contribution."
The pub also boasts a 1930s engine that runs on old chip fat and powers a generator which provides electricity to the pub.
